MOGADISHU, July 5, 2026 – The University of Somalia (UNISO) held its regular monthly Academic Committee meeting today at the university's main administrative headquarters. The high-level session was chaired by the Rector of the University, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Sayid.
The meeting focused on key institutional reforms, curriculum upgrades, and strategic planning aimed at elevating UNISO's academic standards to align with global educational trends.
Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI): A landmark decision to implement AI courses across various faculties to equip students with modern technological skills.
Curriculum Modernization: Reviewing and developing a brand-new English language curriculum to enhance students' global communication capabilities.
Examination & Evaluation Quality: Upgrading the university's examination systems to ensure transparency, rigor, and academic integrity.
Strategic Plan Implementation: Assessing the progress of UNISO's long-term strategic roadmap.
Student Experience & Growth: Reviewing feedback surveys from graduating students, improving guidance and counseling for incoming freshmen, and discussing strategies for student enrollment growth.
